Student Life

College Requirements
The admission options available to prospective students are as follows:-
Diploma: An applicant should have at least a mean grade of C- (Minus)
apart from selected courses such as medical and environmental sciences which the mean grade is C (plain).
Craft: An applicant should have a minimum of a D (plain) in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education.
Artisan:An applicant should have a minimum qualification of Kenya Certificate of Primary Education to qualify for admission.
Short courses: That are internally examined and run between 2 weeks and 6 months and are open to the public.

General Requirements
Our semester officially begins in January, however some departments may decide to conduct their enrollments off the official schedule depending on the course duration and resource availability or any other appropriate reason as may be approved by the Academic Board of the Institute.
Applications for admission must be in such form and contain such information as prescribed by the Institute. Notwithstanding any provisions of these provisions, an applicant may be required to undergo an interview or sit for entrance examination.
To enhance the provision of learning opportunities, the Institute may admit individuals who posses exceptional qualifications/skills and display potential for professional growth to enroll in the Institute for Specialized Programs. Entry requirements:
It is the responsibility of the applicant to submit to the Coast Institute of Technology valid testimonial and certificates such as School, pre-diploma, or diploma certificates prior to the commencement of classes, where required.
An applicant shall NOT be admitted to any program within the College without satisfying the minimum entry requirements of the Institute. Students must also satisfy respective departmental requirements before registering for courses in any department.
