ATTACHMENT FOR TRAINEES For a trainee to graduate in any of the above courses, it is mandatory to be attached to various establishments that offer hospitality services. This is meant for exposure to real practical experience before finally joining the industry on completion of the course. COMPETENCY BASED EDUCATION AND TRAINING (CBET) CBET is the future in Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET). The department envisages to roll out a CBET course in Housekeeping Level 3 as the pioneer; other courses are in the pipeline. EXPECTATIONS AFTER TRAINING Graduates from our department are expected to work in food production, service and accommodation units in the hospitality industry. The hotel and catering industry at large has found our products competent to serve in their organizations. Moreover, trainees are encouraged to be entrepreneurial in creating jobs.
CAREER OPPORTUNITIES There are a range of careers open from these courses in a variety of areas such as hotels, institutions, restaurants, hospitals, entertainment and leisure properties, airlines and sea-lines, members clubs, laundry plants and shops. One can also be self- employed owing to the entrepreneurial skills imparted in all our graduates.
